Who says kids get to have all the fun?
If you want to pretend you’re not a grownup for a few days, Chicago is a fantastic place to act like a big kid.
Whether you take your children on vacation or decide on an adults-only trip, try these top attractions.
Chicago has tons of arcades for you to spend the day disrupting alien invasions, rescuing princesses, and avoiding all types of mayhem.
If you enjoyed playing video games as a kid, a visit to one of these locations is sure to awaken your inner child. Logan Arcade is rated as the best in the city on Yelp, and it’s kid-free – age 21 and over only! Have a few beers while you play until 2 am or 3 am on Saturdays.
Emporium Wicker Park is also a favorite, featuring live music and DJs, sports events, and a food and drink menu. Chicago boasts countless locations that are perfect for a fun night out!
Bouncing on a trampoline never gets old, no matter your age.
If you feel like some bouncy time, Sky High Sports in Niles, just outside of the city, is an exciting pitstop. Buy an hour or two jump pass for enough time to have fun and remind yourself of all those muscles you forgot about! They even offer trampoline dodgeball, for those who thought dodgeball in gym class wasn’t brutal enough.
If you feel like taking a flying leap, you can also bounce down their trampoline lane and land safely in a giant foam pit.
Legoland Discovery Center might be mostly aimed at children, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun for adults on their own. However, this one might be a little better if you’re taking the kids along.
Stay super close by at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg, and you can have plenty of family fun on your visit. It might be geared toward younger children, but who doesn’t love Lego?
Miniland is fantastic for seeing some clever Lego constructions and the Star Wars displays are a lot of fun. Plus, there’s a coffee shop if you need a break.
Who said bowling was reserved for kids and leagues? This fun, childhood activity still offers lots of laughs, even if you’re not on a teenage date. If you’re ready to lace up rented shoes and eat a hotdog, you have a number of great places to choose from in Chicago.
Check out Timberlanes, Pinstripes, or 10pin Bowling Lounge to try your hand at bowling a strike. Don’t worry. Gutter guards are available!
After you’ve worked up an appetite, there is no place you’ll want to be other than someplace specializing in Chicago deep dish pizza.
Forget everything you know about pizza and get a firsthand lesson at what this pie should be. Skip the silverware and napkins, and prepare to dig in, hands-first, into these meaty, cheesy pies!
For a delicious, Chi-town approved pizza, stop by Giordano’s. They have several locations around the city to make finding this restaurant super easy. It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll make that day. Promise!
Get to know your inner child with some fun activities when you visit Chicago. The whole family can enjoy a trip, or you can make it no kids allowed for some grownup fun!
