The Rashomon Effect
The Rashomon Effect refers to contradictory accounts of the same event by different people.
Consider this event:
The male college student says the day was amazing. Literally the best time ever.
The mother says the day was horrible and that she can’t believe how rude some people are.
The police officer says the day was odd and he’d never seen anything like it. He didn’t know how to react.
Can you guess what event they are referring to? I’d guess No Pants Metro Day, but the answer could vary.
Be careful what you say when sharing your travel with others. No two experiences are the same, so your worst vacation may be another traveler’s dream!
